Prayer Requests

I wrote this for my church, and I thought I'd share it here. It has a brief summary of what I'll be doing in Guatemala and some of my prayer requests going in.
Can't believe I'm a little over a week away...

For the next ten months, I will be teaching at an International Christian School in Guatemala. I leave August 1, and will return in June 2011. My education background, foreign missions experience, and love for Christ have all led me to this amazing opportunity and I feel so blessed because of it. I am excited to see what the Lord has in store for my time there!
I will be living in the city of Quetzaltenango, located in the mountains of Guatemala. Most of my time will be spent teaching second grade, which will consist of all the regular school subjects, plus Bible. I’m very excited to be in this kind of setting because there will be a lot of freedom to share the Gospel and Christ with my students.
I do covet your prayers for this experience. It will definitely be a big change for me, and while I am greatly looking forward to it, I also recognize how vital the Lord is in this process.

Please pray:
• That I will be a light for Christ and represent Him well, sharing His truth with my students, fellow teachers, and others I meet in Guatemala. Pray that my words, actions, and love would all point to Christ.
• Specifically for the Bible classes and chapels I will lead and teach. Pray that I would be in tune with the Spirit, and teach and speak only truth. Pray that God would give me wisdom to know what to say and provide me with answers to any questions students might have.
• For personal growth, as I am stretched in new ways. That I would learn even more about the Lord and His will for me during this experience. Pray that I would have an open heart.
• Pray for safety and good health.

Thank you so much! I’m blessed to be a part of the Body of Christ and a member of a church family that provides so much support!

The Road Less Traveled, Robert Frost

TWO roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.
