Here's a picture of my lesson plan book from last week if it gives you any idea of the craziness--
Last week was a long week, and this weekend has been much needed! Last night I hung out with some of the girl's and tonight is the engagement party dinner for the teachers that just got engaged.
Also, next week is going to be CRAZY!! The 15th is Independence Day, and if I could give you any kind of comparison I would say kinda like Fourth of July, times 10. Kinda.
It's a big deal. Most schools have off the entire week, we just have off Wednesday but I'm excited nonetheless! (Don't be jealous, you all had Labor Day and we didn't, so we can call it even) There are parties and parades and a fair-- all week long. And there are people everywhere. Apparently everyone in Guatemala comes to Xela to celebrate. Seriously. All of the queens-- Miss Guatemala, Miss Mexico and all the other Misses of Central America are here. I've already seen a ton of people, and its even supposed to be less heavily attended this year because a lot of the roads to get in are still blocked from the storm.
I'm sure I'll post more about it this week, but for now here is a picture. Central Park is decorated with flags of Guatemala and Xela.
