I stole this picture from another teacher because A) I felt you needed to see it. B) I haven't taken many pictures.
It was at the fair. I wish I could carry 4 turkeys on my head.

Independence Week was fun, but I'm glad its coming to a close. All of the parades can make it a little difficult to get around. And there are just a lot of people here. And when you have a lot of people in one place, not so nice things can happen sometimes. I had one of those "not so nice" experiences yesterday. I thought about whether or not to write about it here, and I decided against it. I will say this, one of the biggest frustrations I've had here is the way the men (most men, not all) regard women. Or really, the lack of it. Its angering and saddening and just appalling sometimes. Yesterday was a big reminder to me that we live in a fallen world. And that fallen-ness (perhaps I made that word up?) extends way, way beyond Guatemala.

Anyway, I did enjoy my day off. Some of us went to go see a movie which was fun. And although it did rain at the end of the day yesterday, the weather the past few days has been absolutely incredible!

Today it was back to work. And I survived another major teacher dilemma. I accidentally left my lesson plan book at home. I almost had a panic attack when I realized it wasn't in my teacher bag when I got to school this morning. That little black book is basically my life at the moment. Not only does it have my plans for the day, it has my attendance, graded papers, where I record homework, etc. But alas, I made it. And only one more day until the weekend! :)
